How this calculator works
The estimate multiplies four things: how many people you have, how many hours each loses to repetitive work every week, what an hour of their time really costs, and how much of that work AI can realistically take on. We use 46 working weeks a year (holidays and bank holidays removed) and three automation scenarios based on what we see in real UK businesses: 30% is achievable with off-the-shelf tools and no process change, 50% is typical for a focused first project, and 70% requires redesigning the workflow around AI.
What the number doesn't include
This is a time-saving estimate only. It excludes the upside that's harder to put a number on — responding to leads in minutes instead of days, invoices chased on time, fewer errors to fix — and it excludes implementation cost, which for most small businesses is far smaller than the annual saving.
